I have a similar problem as the one discussed here over github:

My libraries can't load from a shared network folder.
The differences are, I'm using Mint 19.3 Cinnamon.
I'm using NFS sharing instead of Samba.

Tried symlinking, though I didn't think it supposed to help since it appears the cause of the problem is the file locking mechanism as stated in the linked thread and symlinking doesn't change that. And indeed it didn't help.

There is nothing in the log file.

It has no issues with local libraries or creating libraries on the remote location.
