I am using Linux Mint MATE version with Debian, it was the only thing I could get to work stably on this old hardware.
I have the ubuntu exes from here, but they don't work as is.
Any ideas?

Hi kinesia,

you're probably missing some dependencies for the executables. Try the .deb ;)
As the .deb is still work in progress, we don't have a 32 bit build yet. If that's what you need, it can be arranged ;)

Iḿ using a raspberry pi now, the other hardware was flaky, so Iḿ a bit further away from getting it working now...

Sorry, I have no package for raspberry pi. Why don't you try to compile it yourself? I can even help you in the process if you run into problems.
