I'm wondering if the support for Apple Silicon is coming soon. YACReader has been a fantastic app for me to read comics on macOS. I would love to see it becomes even faster and more responsive on the latest Macs...

Yes, YACReader is implemented in C++ using Qt, and Qt is on its way to support Apple Silicon.

Not pushing the implement of this, but Qt seems to support Apple Silicon now

I will thank you in advance, if this eventually got into YACReader.

Eventually yes, but not soon. There is more stuff to do than just running a build for Apple Silicon. Qt 6.2 is still in beta and it is not a drop-in replacement for the Qt version we are currently using.

We will need to verify if Qt 6.2 has all required modules we need (previous versions of the 6.x series do not) and we need to spend a significant time on porting to the 6.x series while still keeping compatibility with the 5.x series to support users on older OS X and Linux versions.

We also will need to do the port blind since nobody on the team owns an Apple Silicon machine yet, which means cross-compiling and no way to test.

So yeah, there is no question that it will happen, but I can't give you an ETA on when the port will be finished.
My answers are not necessarily official YACReader statements but mostly represent my own opinion in technical matters.

I will give it a try this summer, but I would love if anyone opens a PR.
