please help me i can not get yac reader library to work on mny phone on mobile data it only works when im in the house on wifi on my phone

this is all what i typed into port forwarding

You need to enter your public IP (the IP your router uses to connect to internet) in YACReader, when you enter your connection data.

You can pin a server to the bottom bar with the local connection data an another one with your public IP.

Hi thank you for your reply i googled whats my public ip do i put what came up into Server IP Address or Originating IP? and are the other settings correct?

the server in yacreader on the laptop is set to 192 168 1 80 with port 8080 and same on the ios app so i need to pin one with the public ip and same port in the app? and leave the library server on desktop set to 192 168 1 80? sorry im new to this

I am not sure because the name of the fields depend on the router, check user manual. But yeah it is public ip + public port -> 192.168.1.80 + 8080 so maybe “originating” means public.

And yes, it will be the same on the ios app, one ip + port for the public server and 192.168.1.80 + 8080 for the local server.

you may want to explore something like this (or a vpn) to add a security layer in the future: I haven’t done it myself so I can’t provide much help.

hi its still not working i looked it up and originating ip is the address of the device trying to access a certain port on the network sp the computer or mobile device trying to access the yacreader server

while the server ip is the address of the device running the server software

so for originating ip i put the phones public ip address
for the server i put the one that's in the server software in the yacreader desktop app 192.168.1.80 and for all the ports i put 8080

and on yacreader on the phone i entered both neither work and ive tried all this with nord vpn on or off

I don’t think it is the phone public ip, but your router public ip. Your phone (YACReader) needs to find your home, and it can only do it if it connects to your router ip.

still no luck tried routers public ip too
