When I finish reading something on my iPad, I'll delete it. I'm running into an issue where things are reappearing after they've been deleted.

I'm using v. 3.23.2.0 on an iPad Air 2 iOS v iPadOS 15.4.1

If my ipad battery is at 0% and I reboot it. Opening the Yac Reader app displays an older version of the folders and comics on it. As if they were never deleted at all.

Renamed folders and comics revert to an earlier state as well.

If I close the app using the App Switcher (double tapping the menu button and swiping up to remove the app from the list of open apps), then when I open the app again, it typically reverts back to an earlier saved state.

This has been an ongoing issue for many months.
Please advise.

Hmmm, it is the first time I have heard about this issue, do you have enough free space in your device? Changes to the library are applied instantly, so it must be some kind of error writing to disk…

Are you importing comics when it happens? What method do you use to import comics? Can you replicate the problem is you restart your device manually?

Some of the comics are imported from the iPad’s Dropbox app. Usually if I have one issue I want to import.

Some are imported using the built in Dropbox interface of YAC Reader. Usually just for a single story arc (5-6 issues)

Some are imported using the app to interface with the desktop client. I use this method if I’m importing an entire series (12-60 issues, to maintain story arc sub sections using the organization method already in place)

This has not happened while importing. In many cases the reappearing comics are from weeks or even months ago.

Also, comics I’ve imported disappear. It’s like the app remembers a specific point in time, and refuses to remember what the file structure is beyond that point.

It also re-adds comics in the “continue reading” gallery after I’ve removed them/finished reading them.

This issue was was reliably recreated by:
- updating my iPad and allowing it to reboot on its own while plugged in for power.
- closing the app (swiping up in the App switcher UI)
- manually powering the iPad off, and then powering it back on.

When during the iPad’s usage is this “snapshot” of the file structure happening ?

So weird :s. The app uses a database, and changes are applied instantly after any action done by the user that affects the state of the library. The app synchronizes with the desktop server automatically, but that wouldn’t cause comics to appear/disappear, only the reading progress is updated…

if I remove something from the continue reading, press the button to return to the home page, and then immediately go back to Yac Reader, the comics I just removed appear immediatly.

Go to Import -> YACReaderLibrary -> disable “update local progress on sync”
