Can't open comics from YACReaderLibrary 8.5.0

I finally updated to 8.5.0 on my mac, every time i try to open a comic from the library i receive the message YACReader not found, YACReader should be installed in the same folder as YACReaderLibrary. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times to no avail. Please help me fix this.

welcome to the forum. We've been receiving reports that there are some problems with YACReader on MacOSX Sierra, but Luis, the main developper, hasn't had yet time to do a thorough test. YACReader currently is a hobby project and doesn't generate enough revenue (donations and IOS App sales revenue) for him to quit his day job, so work and family take priority over YACReader development. Still, Luis himself is a mac user, so ak YACReader update for MacOS Sierra will probably happen soonish. As I myself am "only" a code contributer and mostly focus on Linux stuff I can't help you with these issues. Still - thanks for using YACReader and taking the time to report the issue

Same here, can't open comics on any of the macs that I'm running it on. Thanks for the wonderful product, hoping for the next update soon.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling YACReader. At least one user got it successfully working again this way.

Just want to mention this is still happening. MacOS Sierra 10.12.3, fresh install.

I am going to release a development version for macos this week, please keep an eye to this topic: www.yacreader.com/forum/testers/971-development-releases

Hopefully the bug is fixed in the develop branch.

i hope this isn't annoying, but i didn't want to start another forum thread, even though my version, 9.6.2, is the latest. but this is still happening (at least for me). i'm on catalina 10.15.4.

where do you have the apps installed?, this bug was fixed time ago...

applications > comics > yacreader > [reader + library]

but i made a symlink to yacreader in /applications.
