Would it be possible to create a server only version of the library that doesn't have a gui? Possibly with an argument to run it in gui mode or server mode. That way it would be easy to run it as a service on Windows or daemon on Linux. You'd be able to set the listen port once and it would automatically start the webservice as soon as it loads. Maybe update or re-index on a schedule or every time it restarts?
