Think is interesting being able to access directories via SAMBA server. It is increasingly common to have the comic on network drives that share their directories for samba ...

In my case, I have a hard disk SYNOLOGY that has a proprietary operating system based on Linux. Another option would be to install the server YacReader on that device ...

A greeting ...

Thanks for your suggestion!

There a lot of users demanding a better support for NAS devices, so I will work on it. Some users are creating their libraries in their NAS from the computer using YACReaderLibrary.

That's exactly what I am moving to. I have all of my libraries on my NAS.

zjDrummond, are you having any issue with YACReaderLibrary and your NAS? Some users have reported problems having their libraries in a NAS.

I haven't noticed any problems yet. I use a Western Digital NAS drive. All of my comics are in one folder ordered by publisher, then series. I imported each publisher folder as a separate library, and though it took some time for the larger folders all went well. The only problems with this setup is that larger files take some time to open, and page turns sometimes lag a nanosecond or two.

I really wish I could somehow stream my whole comic collection over the internet. My WD NAS has FTP functionality. Any chance this could be a future feature?

Connect an iOS device to YACReaderLibrary is possible using port forwarding in your router. Obviously you need to know your public IP.

Hey guys, I know this post is old. I just purchased YacReader since it is the only ComicBook Reader that lets you import from OSX to iOS without using itunes, plus it is also a nifty ComicBook Reader.

I also have a syno and would like to have YACReaderLibrary constantly listening on the port I set it to. I have a domainname that points to my server, but YacReader on iOS only lets me input IPs and not domainnames.

The best solution should be to create a port of YACReaderLibrary for running in NAS. At least Synology can run third party apps.
