Kavita and Komga are pretty popular as installable docker images. They both refer to Mylar for tagging
Mylar defines a series.json in the root.

Which makes sense if you have 1 folder with all comics and have various different applicaties to read from there and synchronize metadata including Kavita, Komga, YacReader Library and others.

The current schema is however not really that rich (github.com/mylar3/mylar3/wiki/series.jso...-%28version-1.0.2%29) It at minimum needs various different ID's to different comic databases (E.g. GCD id for series and comicvine and internal etc as well as an associated url).

The advantage is however that it is editable and various applications could refresh their metadata upon it.
