The touchpad scroll sensitivity is tuned pretty well already, but surprisingly it's not possible to zoom in & out with the standard touchpad gestures. It would be a nice-to-have.
Zoom was designed to configure the reading experience for your screen and preferences, the magnifying glass can be used when you need to enlarge something.
But yeah, the reader needs a refactoring to make it easier to use.
