In the library, you can indicate that a page other than the first is the cover. Can the reader respect this choice and display the page selected as cover as a single page in two-page mode? Hope this makes sense.
It can't, it would be great to make it more consistent, but in practice I am afraid results will vary depending on the content. I'll add it to my TODO list to see what I can do.
