However, in the playstore it's called YACReader Remote. Does this mean that you can only read online? The iPad version allows to download, for offline reading. Is this not the case of the Android version? If not, it's in the plans to added that feature in the future?

Android -> Public IP/Port -> Your router -> Your YACReaderLibrary server setup. Some people use a reverse proxy or ssh tunneling to add a security layer.

It depends on your router, so check its user manual.

Port forwarding is assigning a port number in your router to a local IP and port. When the router gets traffic in that port it will send it to the IP and port you tell it. You want your local IP static.

What you can try to do is setup everything and try to access your library using a web browser -> http://ip:port and see if you can make it work, you can purchase the app after that.

Local port, start: 8080, end: 8080 External port, start: 8080, end: 8080 \| (but it can be a different one, 9999, 10123, etc.) To access the server from the outside you need your public IP, whatever it is, and your external port
